THIS SERVICE IS A FAST WAY TO PAY YOUR CSB LOANS FROM AN EXTERNAL ACCOUNT.
You may still continue using these fee-free payment methods to make your CSB loan payments:
- If you are using a CSB deposit account to pay your CSB loan, log into online banking using the Online Banking button at the top of the page or via our CSB mobile app.
- Mail a check to 200 Church St., Clinton, MA 01510
- Stop into one of our convenient seven branch locations.
- Set up a recurring automatic payment by visiting one of our branch locations.
Important Details to Set Up Message Pay:
- You will be asked to enter your loan account number and the primary borrower's date of birth.
- If you choose to use this service to make payments you will need to verify your account the first time. To do so you will have to set up the following:
- A 4-digit pin: once you have entered your account number and date of birth, it will prompt you to create a 4-digit pin. Store this information in a secure place as you will need this pin number to make future payments.
- Preferred method of payment: to make a payment you will have to add your preferred form of payment in the portal. You can do this by selecting ADD NEW DEBIT CARD or ADD NEW BANK ACCOUNT which will prompt a secure website for you to input your information. If using a CSB debit card or account, consider using the fee-free payment option within online banking or our mobile app instead. If your non-CSB payment method was added correctly, there will be a message stating 'Payment Method Success' and you will be redirected to the payment portal.
- Once your account has been successfully verified, you will be directed to the payment portal where you'll be able to see all of your loans and will also be able to select your preferred payment method.
Reminders:
- The transaction fee to use this Message Pay service is $7.99 for a debit card and $2.99 for ACH (direct withdrawal from a checking or savings account).
- Encrypted information guarantees your information is secure.
- Payments accepted from checking accounts, savings accounts, and debit cards.
- The maximum payment amount for debit cards is $3,000 and $4,100 for ACH. Any payments above these amounts will need to be paid using an alternate method (online banking, at a branch, mailing in a check or visit a branch to set up a recurring ACH transaction if it is a fixed loan payment).
- Make sure to make a note of your reference number on the confirmation screen in case you have questions later.

Q: Is there a maximum dollar limit when making a payment?
A: Yes, the maximum dollar amount when using Message Pay is $4,100 using ACH and $3,000 when paying with a debit card.
Q: How do I make a payment without being charged a fee?
A: The $7.99 convenience fee using a debit card or $2.99 fee using ACH (direct withdrawal from a checking or savings account) is only if you use the Message Pay service. If you log into online banking using the Online Banking button at the top of the page or on our mobile app and make a payment from one of your CSB accounts, you won't be charged any fees. You can also continue to mail in a check or visit a branch to set up a recurring ACH payment.
Q: When will my payment post.
A: Eligible payments made through Message Pay must be received before 4:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Saturday in order to be credited the same day. Payments made on Saturday after 4:00 p.m. will be credited the next business day. A business day is Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays and as otherwise posted in our banking centers or at http://www.clintonsavings.com. Eligible payments processed on days the Bank is closed or after the final cutoff on any business day will be credited on the next business day.
Q: Why would my account not be found or my payment not go through?
A: Some reasons include:
- Not entering the primary borrower's date of birth.
- Only consumer loans can be paid using this service. Payments on commercial loans are not eligible for this service.
- If you've requested a payoff for your loan account, you will need to contact the Loan Operations department, please call 978-365-3700.
- Payments cannot be made using a credit card.
- The payment amount can not exceed $3,000 for a debit card and $4,100 for an ACH.
Q: What do I do if I can't remember my PIN or I am locked out of the service?
A: Please call our Loan Operations department at 978-365-3700 and they can reset your PIN.
Q: Can I change the amount of my payment from what is showing within Message Pay?
A: At this time, only the Amount Currently Due can be paid using this service. If you'd like to make a payment for an amount other than your current amount due you can pay using an alternate method such as through online banking, at a branch, or by mailing in a check.
*The Bank will process all eligible payments transmitted and received during the hours established by the Bank for accepting eligible payments made through MessagePay, except when prevented from doing so due to equipment or electrical failures or any other condition beyond the reasonable control of the Bank.
